Hi Jaxi, Long ago, I read a great book on allergies that discussed nightshades and mentioned that a quick diagnosis is this: if you take Alka-Seltzer GOLD when having your pain, and it alleviates it within 20 min, it has neutralized the nightshade acidity that's some people are prone to.
I don't indulge much any more, but I keep as supply of A-SG on hand to offset my lapses in judgement. (because once in a while, a nice helping of lasagna, or red sauce is too hard to forego).
