Marshall, peer review has nothing to do with it. The article was
written and reviewed as describing the effect of silver nitrate.
Quinto twisted this around to claim this is how silver ions kill
bacteria. This is highly misleading advertising and completely
  false.

Of course, Steve also uses TEM photos to claim his cs is better than
anyone else's, which greatly impresses Jason:

[Stephen Quinto, founder of Natural-Immunogenics Corp., is a
pioneer in the field of colloidal silver production and has
achieved an unprecedented level of command over the ionic silver
generation process. One of his capping achievements is the ability
to produce an isolated silver product with near-uniform dispersion
of silver in an H2O medium.]

However, as Frank has often pointed out, TEM photos say nothing
about what is in the cs, since oxides are formed naturally as the cs
evaporates. So an advertising campaign based on TEM photos is simply
false and misleading, as Steve already knew when he started that
campaign. This is the kind of false information that makes it very
difficult for newcomers to determine what kind of cs to buy or make
in order to obtain the best protection for their families.

Also, as we now know, the particles in cs are not silver. They are
plain silver oxides, which are inert. They have no biological
activity and are useless for human use.

But they are great in watch batteries!

Best Wishes,

Mike Monett
