Bill,
Have your fingernail moons returned to normal? I greatly reduced my daily oral intake of CS (to see if my fingernail moons would un-grey) down to just swallowing my mouthful of CS 'mouthwash' at bedtime, and didn't do misting (after all I wasn't exposed to strangers coughing on me) when my husband was sick for 3 days (he insisted it was just allergies, and I believed him, doh!). When I developed a mild sore throat, after a hard day, I didn't up my oral CS that night either thought it could wait until the next day, as I was "too tired" that night. Besides it couldn't be a cold virus, hubby only had allergies, right?

I wonder if I will ever stop being so dumb. CS can't cure or prevent anything if you don't use it, and apparently it does nothing to cure stupidity. Blue moons are far preferable to this cold. Which I have now had for 12 days. Successfully fighting off its attempts to turn into secondary infections in sinus and lungs so far. But I sure wish I hadn't screwed up again.

I am yet again convinced Ode is right, once you have definite unambiguous symptoms it is too late. Once I've got a cold, it has to run it's course. I've only had 2 since really using CS and have never been able to short-circuit either one with anything, the only thing I can short-circuit is the secondary infections.

Why is it just fingernails, and not toenails too?
When my fingernail moons turned blue from maxxing Microdyn, my toenails were untouched. Quien sabe?

Your fingernails hold clues to your health. Learn to recognize the
signs that might indicate a health issue. Some nail conditions are
harmless. These include vertical ridges, which may become more
pronounced as you age, and white lines or spots. Spots usually
result from injury to the nail plate or nail bed. In time the
    white spots will grow out.

Other nail conditions can indicate disease. For example, yellow or
green discoloration in your nails may result from a respiratory
condition, such as chronic bronchitis, or from swelling of your
hands (lymphedema). Indentations that run across your nails,
called Beau's lines, appear when growth at the area under your
cuticle is interrupted. This might occur because of an injury or
severe illness, such as a heart attack.

Does anyone know about a cause for vertical ridges in the
fingernails? They look healthy, no sign of anything wrong other
than many vertical ridges in every fingernail. All my life
they've been thin and too delicate to grow out long, but they
were always smooth. Several months ago I asked my doctor about
the ridges and she said she hopes they don't mean anything is
wrong and showed me her nails which looked just like mine. They
seem to have gotten worse in the last few months, so CS must not
    do a thing for them.
