whatever email program you're using there's a way to determine where the mail file is. you can also change the location where the program looks for and saves it, or select another mail file to use.... once determined, then use windows explorer or whatever to locate it, and copy the whole thing (if netscape, the whole nest of folders that it's within which will contain a bunch of other stuff like bookmarks that you don't want to lose also) elsewhere...onto CD, another hard-drive, tape (yes, they still exist), a web archive....
