What program are you using to do that? I mean, what program is the
folder in? What folder?
When I tried to do select all and save in my mail program, all that got
to the CD was the mail headers. No message content. There was no way to
save a bunch of emails at once from the mail program to a folder in My
Documents either, all that produced was email headers also without
content. I must be doing something wrong, leaving out some critical
step(s) but I just don't know what.
Since I have Outlook Express on this computer (because it is
there)though I don't use it for mail, I could possibly import the
messages to Outlook Exp, and thus they would not be lost if my current
email program goes south. They'd still be lost if I had a major system
blowout, though. But that is all I can come up with to do, as I said,
I'm not computer savvy at all.
I have no idea how to create the archive files Wayne talked about. I
mean, I wanted to try Gmail, but cannot get my address book (contacts)
to import into it....there are instructions, but they are unintelligible
to me. Which brings up...........is Gmail safe? doesn't that put a
person's emails right where the goverment can get to them with no
trouble? Would google NOT turn over all that info to the government?
When most phone companies are handing all their phone records over?
Hmmm.I'm just not sure I want my private (or even my public)
correspondence on the web where google can give it all up at any time.Si
this paranoid?

Sure you can save the folder onto your hard drive and burn it onto a CD.
