Hello,

I have found a problem with a BLF feature in Linksys SPA942 IP phone.
I tested BLF feature on sipX versions 4.2.1 and 4.3 (4.3.0-019022
2010-09-04T14:32:55 build13), but had no success. When I searched
information about this problem I have found a thread in the "sipx-dev"
mailing list and an issue #XX-7011 in SIPfoundry Issue Tracker
(http://track.sipfoundry.org/browse/XX-7011). I also have found that
SPA942 phone's BLF feature works with 3CX, Brekeke and Asterisk based
PBXs, Broadsoft and Sylantro softswitches. SPA942 phone has special
option (Server Type) for work with various VoIP systems. The Server
Type settings are: Broadsoft, SPA9000, Asterisk, RFC3265_4235 and
Sylantro.
I hope that there is a way to reach compatibility between SPA942 phone
and sipX for successful work with BLF feature. Therefore I have
decided to update an issue #XX-7011. I have attached two sipX
snapshots for two operating modes of SPA942 phone - with the settings
used for work with Asterisk based PBXs and with settings which close
to recommended for manual BLF feature configuration
(http://sipx-wiki.calivia.com/index.php/HowTo_manually_configure_BLF_in_a_phone).
In last case SPA942 phone tries to subscribe to
<sip:~~rl~f~[us...@sipx_ip_address> URI and use RFC3265_4235 as Server
Type.

I also have attached a file "SPA942-BLF-demo-filtered.pcap" with SIP
messages capture which demonstrates work of BLF feature in SPA942
phones with Asterisk Server Type mode. Configuration of SPA942 phones
in this case the same, as used for a snapshot with Asterisk based PBXs
(Asterisk is used for Server Type).

Can you elaborate. Are you seeing same issue, phone returns 501 not implemented?

You may want to test this on latest test build "sipxecs-4.3.0-testing"
or at least latest stable sipxecs-4.2.1 (if you haven't already) from
  http://download.sipfoundry.org/pub/sipXecs/ISO/
and respond back with your results.
