I think Robert is curious whether one can have a gateway (he stated FXO or PRI) "register" to sipx. So "yes" I think it can be done. It might have something to do with testing an upcoming feature for gateway selection of something?
So while I think Patton has that capability, it's raised questions why a PRI or FXO gateway would need to do that of course. I still think the answer is yes it can do this, but it does make the configuration a tiny bit more out of the ordinary. Once there is a clear understanding, I can always submit the question to Patton. >>> "Picher, Michael" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 07/11/08 19:23 PM >>> Bob, Could you give me a use scenario so I understand what you are trying to accomplish? A secondary login a phone could use if it can't register to the PBX? I haven't used the commands Tony highlighted to connect a phone to the gateway although I believe it can be done. I used the mentioned configuration to make the gateway login to an ITSP and route calls in to a sipX server (made it into my B2BUA). Basically, I'm trying to determine if it is generally possible to configure SIP credentials (authanme and SIP password) in a Patton FXO or PRI gateway the same way you can in any SIP phone today. My goal is to determine if a Patton gateway could be configured to successfully respond to a challenge from sipX if it ever saw one.
