We resell a provider that offers t.38 trunks that we have tested (inbound and outbound). It does require a monthly minimum trunking commitment to implement though.
We have also tested, and found worthless: gafachi (70% inbound failure), flowroute (30% inbound failure). Both had almost 100% outbound failure. I stopped trying to use FAXBACK 6 months ago, it was a prettyhorrible waste of time. We have very good luck using a PRI for t.38 (100%), and have all the FXS ports registered to sipx and can direct inbound faxes to plain paper or paperless by changing where the DID is input. All inbound/outbound faxes flow through CDR too. We also have used other fax appliances (multitech) to connect to FXS devices and are able to send paperless outbound, all through sipx with both t.38 providers or via PRI. We haven't and don;t expect to attempt hylafax+sipx because it just hasn't shown to be worthwhile. Hylafax was always instable when trying to use t38modem and badly/poorly deocumented in lieu of the commercial offerings. "We hates the secret sauces."
