Hi Dick, In effect, the content of my directories is different. From your example, my 4630.GSC is 5KB and 4619.GSC is 77KB I downloaded everything from: http://cdsweb.u-strasbg.fr/viz-bin/ftp- index?/ftp/cats/bincats/GSC_1.1/N8230 If I select in CDC the "HST GSC compact" option, the program accepts the directory and its contents (the C:\ciel\cat\gsc window is white), but I have the "Access violation at address 002242AD in module 'CATALOG.DLL' ..." If I select "HST Guide Star Catalog" option, CDC accepts the directory, but prompts the following message:"Mount disk for GSC C:\ciel\cat\gsc" So, as you already told me, it looks that I am working with something that is still compressed, but I don't know how to decompress these files or from where download the correct ones. In addition I have not a \tables directory (if you move them to another directory, does CDC still work? What do you think? Regards, Aldo
