Shows up just as I'd expect it. "SMART capable Hard Disk - WDC..."
Also tried different slots of the Microserver which didn't work either.

Yes, some months ago I did have a ZFS pool on that HDD. I thought that zeroing 
should prevent this from causing trouble.

The HDD works smoothly under MAC OS X (client though).
