Following the link you provided, booting normally and logging in with root / PW on image and entering the lines below: #zfs set smartdc:factoryreset=yes zones/var #reboot I'd be keen to learn how this is technically possible to cause problems, since as mentioned the HDD and USB Key had been zeroed. Do you have a link to learn more about this? Would guess this is related to "persistent", however I didn't realize this survives zeroing... Anyway, thanks so much for you hints and patience with my noobish questions!
