Thank you for your reply. I am pretty sure that the disc I tried to write with on the PC was one that I had failed to write with on the Mac. Since yesterday I have tried once more. Two fresh discs wrote with no problem on the PC while one fresh disc came up with "disc unreadable" when I put the unwritten fresh disc in the Mac. I am not convinced that the discs are faulty. None have failed previously on the old Superdrive before that was replaced.
My feeling is that there is something different about the new Superdrvie. I was just interested to know if anyone has any comments or ideas to add to this.
