Thank you, yes. I have just bought a LaCie firewire drive to get around the issue of the disks being scratched (another story). I may well have to do a fresh install, but I can not understand how all this has happened only since the internal drive was swapped.
The LaCie writes to the Kodak disks fine - did it this morning.
