The problem is that iwork has already been copied (I used migration assistant 
as soon as I could, after the lecture). But perhaps you think that just erasing 
everything and then dragging across from the old machine's disc in target mode 
will do it? In which case, what about all those little files that have to be 
deleted in library>application support>iworks 09. Will they be generated, or 
are they missing because the application hasn't been installed?

To come back to Jason's suggestion: I can run off the old machine's disc, but 
it's not actually very convenient, as you'd imagine!
