which pose would you suggest?

Personally, I don´t like the all straight T-Pose for modeling,
because it compresses the shoulder area and doesn´t help in
terms of judging the mesh for an interesting silhouette.

Also, it´s harder to check for a reasonable arm length compared to mesh height.

Personally, I like the more relaxed pose, arms limp angled 30-45° off the body,
knees slightly bent a lot better for a natural pose. Also for modeling clothing.

Szabolcs, you need to kick that model back to the modeling department. If they 
were so careless to model in a pose not approved by rigging it's on them to fix 
it.
