Guys, I do appreciate the suggestions, but don'tcha think I'd have done the
obvious things first? These calipers have been done inside of a year ago,
with new fluid and a flush out. The pistons are fine, seals are fine,
master is fine. You can retract the pistons with a good hard push of the
thumbs, and hanger pivots are free-acting.

Problem is easily defined: pucks are sticking into caliper bores. Can see
that whitish stuff coming from the AL caliper body and can see some rust on
puck OD. Doesn't seem to matter if the brakes get wet, and for that matter,
I keep it under a roof and they don't. Pucks can't be removed from body w/o
lots of wriggling and prying or pumping out. Once all is cleaned up, things
are fine. For a few weeks. 

Considering the adventures others have had with puck-lubing, I'm reluctant
to try it. Don't want to define this as an impossible sitch though.
