>"I want you to get some rest, Garibaldi," Serana told him bluntly, "You've had enough excitement for one day, I think.  Oh, incidentally, you might want to thank Lucas Ryan next time you see him.  He's saved your life twice in 12 hours, now.  He was first on the scene when you got shot, and stabilized you enough to get you here, and then he brought you out of that heart attack a few hours ago.  The kid thinks he's not qualified for field duty, but he's got better instincts than 90% of those medical graduates out there."

>"Yep.  Bad.  It is definately bad news.  I will stay here thank you.  I think I may be getting a little too old for this kind of crap.  I will stay here and recover in peace.", he said musing on whatever event had security in a bunch.  "So all this is Ryan's handiwork...", Gariabld icommented on the biobed and such.  "Not bad for a kid.  I will most definately thank the lad.  Thank you for being here Serana.  I am sure that both the lad and I appreciate it in equal measure."

"It's my job, Admiral," she replied, "But you're welcome."  She assumed he would go back to sleep, but she set up the terminal near him for entertainment so he could read a book, watch a vid, or listen to music... but she took care to install a medical restriction on all Starfleet and news channels, including the encoded ones - she didn't want him sneaking around doing WORK behind her back.  "I'm leaving a non-restricted communication channel open for your use," she told him, "You can contact the rest of the brass or your family to let them know you're all right, but since you won't be able to scramble the channel, you won't be able to talk about anything that's been going on.  REST, Garibaldi.  You're fresh out of surgery and you still have kidney problems.  Now I'll be outside, checking on my sister, but nurses will be in and out.  If any of them catch you straining yourself, you're going to find yourself in the medical equivalent of solitary confinement.  You know how to get a hold of us if you need anything."

Come to think of it, she was fresh out of surgery herself.  Damned brass...
