Jared knew this was coming.  It was  something that he always faced when
dealing with medical personnel.  "I  understand the need for patient-doctor
priviledge, Counselor.  I have no  intention of invading Captain Boulay's
privacy.  I just know that your  opinions and comments could be important in
this investigation and any related court cases."

"That may be the case, Captain, but I will not endanger the health of my
patient.  If I think that anything I say or do will do that, then I will
telly you that I cannot answer a question."

"Perhaps we could approach this from a dfferent direction.  Would you be
willing to be interviewed in the presence of the patient himself?  He  would
then be able to say whether he wanted you to speak or not."

Joanna eyed her visitor.  She did not think that he was trying to be
difficult.  He was trying to find a way to work within her constraints and
still move the investigation along quickly.  "I am not sure that would be
for the best.  It could affect our patient-doctor relationship if I am
forced to evaluate him in front of him.  A private interview would be for
the best."

The Admiral could only respond with a nod.  She was at least willin to be interviewed.  He had made the offer in the hopes of finding a way for her to do so without compromising her ethics.  "Would you want to sit in while I speak with Captain Boulay."
