Seriously, it does seem strange that the Committee does not have anyone from the sprinkler industry "proper"- I realize the code and fire officials are waging our war. There certainly are numerous #13, #13R and #13D committee members that could assist and give input based on years (a century?) of sprinkler code development. Could stop things like sticking dry sidewalls outside where the deflector distance is measured from a real cloud. I believe both Steve and my comments were directed at the industry, we both realize the trade associations are actively pursuing these things. That's why we pay dues to support AFSA's efforts to better the sprinkler industry.
