It's why I asked if anybody knows about any successful or unsuccessful tests with hi-ex and aerosol canisters,
either by FM, UL or any other recognized testlab, to get a clear picture.

The FM datasheets didn't help me any further:
FM 7-31 does not mention foam at all.
FM 4-3N has only 3 pages and points to NFPA 11A.
I'm open for other suggestions...
