The pump will still boost its inlet pressure. If you use the FDC to boost the inlet pressure to 175, then the pump will discharge 175 + pump pressure. Could be too much.

Looking through 2013 NFPA 20, I don't see anything precluding the instillation on the supply side. Is the FDC allowed to be installed on the supply? I have a contractor that has installed the FDC on the supply run-in, instead of stubing up a secondary line from the remote FDC. Thanks, Jamie
