I'm getting the same error with the new Spyder 2.3.0 Mac App.
I'm pointing the python executable to a MacPorts Python distribution
(/opt/local/bin/python). My python versions are Python 2.7.8_1 and iPython
2.1.0_2.
I can successfully use the interpreter selection "Default (i.e. the same as
Spyder's)"
