Hi Carlos, all,

I am on a MBP-Haswell-OSX-10.9. I have a brewed Python installation running
in* /usr/local/bin/python*, and a functional ipython qtconsole - version
1.2.1.
I downloaded and installed the Spyder-2.3.0 dmg. When I fire Spyder I am
also getting the "frontend and kernel versions are *incompatible*" issue at
the IPython console. The path in menu *Spyder/Console/Advanced
settings/Python executable* is */usr/local/bin/python*
When I change the path to the default one, IPython console runs just fine,
but I think in that way I am working in the OSX Python installation, which
is not desirable.

Best,

Santiago
