On the library and XML file from this version, it seems the iTunes LMS plugin did work. However, my playlists took a lot longer to import - with iTunes 12.0.1, a 'clear all and rescan' takes about 4.5 hours in total; scanning iTunes 12.3.0 took 7.5.
If you check Settings/Information you would see how much time was spent in which area. Is it iTunes at all?
Hours is a lot anyway... how large is your collection? What NAS are you using?
Any tips or ideas as to how I/we can speed up the LMS iTunes plugin when it hits the playlists stage?
Make sure you enabled the "large memory" options in Settings/Advanced/Performance (if you have enough memory). And check where the scan is spending most of the time. Some plugins (eg. my Music & Artist Information) can add a lot of overhead to the scan.
