Thanks for the replies so far. LMS Scans two seperate directories of
miscellaneous music on the NAS, and also uses the iTunes plugin to scan
my main iTunes library contained in a third directory. iTunes library
has around 21,000 tracks and 420 playlists. Miscellaneous music is
around 8,000 tracks across both directories. Here's my scan settings:

24358

And here's the details of last night's scan:

24359

Note that most of the time was indeed the iTunes track import and, in
particular, the playlist import, then building a full index. Usually, I
just run a 'look for new and changed files' rescan, but the details
above were for a full 'clear and rescan'. I'll check to see if there's
any other plugins I don't use that can be disable and run another test
'new and changed' scan overnight. As for the "large memory" option, is
this "memory" that's being referred to RAM? As far as I'm aware,
Synology NAS systems don't have a great deal of RAM (as they're
predominantly used for storage, rather than intensive application
running), so I don't know what impact it'll have, but I'll change the
setting to see what happens anyway.

Thanks again

Andy
