1) Get a piece of 8x11 paper and a pencil.
For those readers in the rest of the world, A4 paper would work just fine.
David Schwartz put together a wonderful photo essay about his desktop Max. Check out his site below and navigate to his battery pictures. Not the same as a tower, but it will give an idea of what to look for.
