-------------------------------------------------- REMINDER: Only 2 Posts Per Day Per Person -------------------------------------------------- -- Smoking and E-Democracy -- There have been at least a couple of social meetings for people involved in these e-democracy issues lists. I went to one, and came out after half an hour with a headache. I didn't go to another one. So the lack of clean-air bars has limited my participation in e-democracy socializing.
-- Smoking and being Single -- Before I was married, I tried many times to quit smoking, but I couldn't avoid smoky social gatherings without becoming a total hermit. At that time, a non-smoking section meant that the waitress would take the ashtray away from one table and replace it with a 'thank you for not smoking' sign. I would manage to go for about three days without a cig, head out with friends on a Friday night, and be smoking OP's by eleven. Then, I'd buy a pack on the way home. A smoking ban would be a godsend for smokers trying to quit. Smokers who believe they can't quit should be gracious enough to give the struggling quiters a fighting chance by not smoking around them. -- Smoking and Lawyers -- Is there a product liability lawyer out there who would like to find a case to sue a bar or restaurant after a patron died of a heart attack after a visit to a smoky bar? Please do a public service to us all and post your contact information to this forum. It should not take a threat of lawsuits to get business owners to pay attention to the health of patrons. The FACTS are in front of us all. Second hand smoke causes heart attacks and strokes. -- Smoking and Bowling When I used to work at Control Data, there were bowling teams that were a good place to connect with other people at work. Going to the bowling nights was helpful to a persons success at work. One should not be required to smoke to go to a work related social function. --Smoking, beer and pool How I wish there was somewhere I could go to play a game of pool and drink a beer! I have though seriously about moving to California, just so I could go out again! -- Please STPaul, bring on the ban! -- Bob Treumann, Saint Paul Please Note: Replies to this email address all go to the trash except where the subject line contains a recognized mailing list identifier, such as [TCMETRO] _____________________________________________ NEW ADDRESS FOR LIST: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To subscribe, modify subscription, or get your password - visit: http://www.mnforum.org/mailman/listinfo/stpaul Archive Address: http://www.mnforum.org/mailman/private/stpaul/
