I don't agree. I've seen tram systems in places like Amsterdam, Munich and even San Francisco that operate on city streets much more narrow than, and just as busy as, University Ave. It can be done. Putting an LRT North of University would make it much less useful for people trying to get to or from places on University. The Hiawatha Line is a bad example for University Ave. It's more like a heavy rail line than an urban tram line which is what we need in St. Paul. A subway would be nice but it ain't gonna happen.
