Well there are so many things to check and all it takes is one small 
difference... It "may" be that OSX needs to go on the IDE drive?? I 
also read that any older Mac with a built in ATA/IDE controller maybe 
affected by the need to put OSX on the first 8gb of the drive. 
Putting OSX cd on a hard drive was a good idea on your part. I just 
sent Ryan a note asking for help. Let's see what he has to say. He's 
busy so not sure how soon I'll hear back. I hope to have time in the 
next few weeks to dig out my trusty old C500 and give it a try my 
self depending on what Ryan tells me. don' give up yet ;-)  Will S
