Hi Tim, I must not have been clear with my suggestion. Try the following:
1 - Do whatever you need to do to get the machine to start up in OS 8.1. 2 - After it starts up, go into the Monitor's Control Panel and set your resolution to 640 x 480 @ 60Hz 3 - Go into the Start Up Control Panel and Select OS 9 as the Start Up Disk 4 - Restart while holding down the Space Bar 5 - When the Extension Manager shows up - Select OS 9 Base 6 - DO NOT turn off any of the OS 9 Base Extensions 7 - Go down through the Control Panels and TURN ON Pro Graphics 8 - Let the machine continue the start up process 9 - Go into the Monitor's Control Panel and set your resolution to 640 x 480 @ 60Hz I think that will get you back in operation.
