Hi Chris, Open it up (remove the side panel) and make sure the processor card is firmly in it's socket, in case it got banged around at all during shipping or moving. While you're inside, check that the RAM DIMM(s) are also inserted firmly (but don't press too hard on them), and same with the video card. Note that the removable side panel has a brace bar that attaches to it's inner side. It has plastic blocks on it that are meant to line up with the processor card and stabilize it. I mention this because I've received S900's that, once opened, had an improperly installed brace bar, and the processor card was jarred loose. Also, you can't use the 'C' key for cd booting on the S900, instead use "command/option/shift/delete" and hold those through the startup sequence until the smiley face appears. If you don't have the original UMAX CD you may need to get an external device (hard drive, Zip, etc) and try and boot from that. Reason being is that the S900's original Matshita CD drive needs Apple CDROM 5.3.1, or a 3rd party driver like FWB or Intech. Double-check the SCSI connectors while you're in there too, and note the placement of the "cuda switch"... bottom left corner of the logic board. But definitely try and get an external SCSI device with an appropriate System Folder (and some diagnostic utilities) on it, and try to boot from that. Try both ADB ports on your S900, it's unlikely they'd both not work. Do you have the original UMAX keyboard with it? If so, you don't need to use the attached cable, it has ports on each side of the keyboard as well. 32 mb's of RAM will allow you to test the machine, but once you determine all is well, load it up with many times that amount. But that's later on. Keep us posted. And sorry for rambling on a bit there. =) -Howie -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
