In addition to those suggestions... have you tried a known working 
keyboard/mouse?

After boot up, do any keys work - for instance, the 
up/down/left/right arrows should allow you to select different items 
on the desktop.  Letter keys should select an item that begins with 
that letter.  Command-O to open.  etc.

I use Timbuktu a lot here, so if it was me I'd install TB2 
(netopia.com - pull down a 30 day demo) and see if I can control it 
from a remote machine.  If that works and the known 
keyboard/mouse/adb cable does not, then you may be right about having 
a blown adb.
