Hi Chris,

Well, I'll try to help since we apparently don't have a full ship tonight.
I too have an s900 running 9.1.

What else do you know about the machine? Do you know that the battery is
OK? Does it boot normally? You say its "quiet as hell", the fan and power
supply are working right?

Is your keyboard responsive to anything or is it just that it doesn't
respond to the boot cd commands? Can you zap pram at startup? (Command,
Option, P, R at start-up) Rebuild Desktop? Things like that. If so, then
does it read cd's normally when booted from the hard drive?

If not, then hopefully the problem is connected to your cd/rom. Have you
tried both boot cd commands? (c key for one) (Command Option Shift Delete
for the other) Try blowing out the cd/rom with a can of air. Not too much
pressure but enough to blow any dust from the where it reads.

You definitely need more ram for one thing. As for the keyboard, mine
doesn't flash either but there are lights for a few functions such as 'caps
lock'. Re the mouse, if its the standard kind, have you cleaned the dust
bunnies out from the roller ball? Of course, make sure everything is
plugged in properly and check the tiny pins of the plugs to make sure none
are bent. This happens often.

I may not be here to continue helping, but the more info you give will be
helpful to the process.

Good Luck

Dave
