I've been running my machine with a both a hard drive mounted here as 
the machine came from the factory and with a fan also mounted in the 
cage provided. The fan plugs right into the motherboard provided 
power pins which are labeled.The front of the case seems to have 
plenty of air holes to pull air around the hard drive. The fan should 
blow to the back of the case rather then on the hard drive as someone 
suggested as this would disrupt the airflow inside the case. My 
machine was running a bit warm on hot summer days and I didn't want 
any trouble . The extra fan keeps my over clocked cpu running just 
fine on the hottest days. It was 102 F last week! Here in the P NW 
where few people have air conditioning. Will S
