Yes, load the X CD while in OS 9.1, and then OS X boots from the X install
CD, and the install goes from there.
OS 9.1 has nothing to do with it after the X install CD reboots your
machine.

Much, much happier. I've said it before, and I'll say it again... anything
less than a G3/350 is only good for looking around in OS X. To really use X,
a G4 is the way to go. A fast G3 wouldn't be bad. But altivec matters in OS
X.
