I've got a 17" KDS monitor I bought with my C600 from Small Dog that
has been gathering much dust for the past year. It seems the energy
saver circuit has gone south--a common problem from what I gather
about CRTs. The problem I'm finding is that hardly anybody does
monitor work and if they do then its $100 just to open the hood. I
suppose most get nervous around the CRT neck and decide that it isn't
worth it. To compound this, getting rid of CRTs (or computers, for
that matter) is a headache because filling landfills is not a smart
thing to do with all this stuff. But I digress.

There should be someone on this list (Jeff? Howie? Dallas?) who
knows what the energy saver circuit should like and can provide some
landmarks. Or a web resource someone knows about that may have
useful info. The monitor works if that failed capacitor can be
isolated and replaced.
