Hi foks, I'm new to the list. I've got a C500 that's so nice I can't quit bear (or afford, sigh) to give it up. But I'm on a cable modem now with our faster G4 and have a router, so it's time to add ethernet to the C500. I bought an Encore ENL832-TX+ NCI on ebay which claimes to work on the C500. It comes with driver software. But I've installed card and driver and the Appletalk control panel refuses to acknowledge ethernet's presence. I think I've tried all combinations of Apple's 3 e-net extensions and the RTL8139x Driver that comes with the NCI.
I'm running 8.5.1, 48MB, I've replaced the HD with a 30GB one, and I've added a USB-PCI card. Is there any hope for my C500's networthiness? Bob Dr. Robert Gershon Chair, Communication Dept.
