Well I think there is a bit of a mixup here. More expensive C500
machines may have come with a PCI Ethernet card installed. However
there are no less expensive C500 machines that can not use Ethernet. It
is simply a case of getting a card with mac drivers. A few may even
work with the built in Apple drivers. It may well take some trouble
shooting to get it to work finding the correct drivers etc. You can't
go wrong with an Asante card but you will pay a premium price. They are
a long time Mac Ethernet company. SMC Ethernet cards are sold at most
PC stores. CompUSA and Frys for example. The one I bought was marked
regular price $16.95 and it was on sale for $9.95. I did have to
download the driver from their website. The Asante card will cost you
double the regular price. I have one of each and they both work just
fine. I don't remember the brand you have did you go to their website
to see if they have new drivers? This can be a bit tricky sorting out
the drivers. You may need to turn off Apple Ethernet drivers in
extension manager if they are present. If the card is seen by ASP then
it should work with correct drivers. ASP sometimes gives card info and
other times just mentions something is in the slot. Don't give up you
will get it to work. Will S
