        Yes, an ethernet card will work fine in your C500. You just need a 
card with drivers that will work in your machine.
        Just so you know nearly all cable modems being sold today are both USB 
and Ethernet ready. So you may not even need the ethernet card to hook 
the C500 up to cable .If your cable company provides the modem ask them 
about USB hookup.  Best of luck, Will S
PS. SMC sells widely available Ethernet cards that have Mac drivers. I 
paid $9.95 on sale.
