I've yet to see a Radio Shack that has the battery for the C500/C600 in stock. If you're going to mail order anyway, you can probably do better in terms of price; here's a pointer to a site that has the 4.5V alkaline battery you need for about $10. http://www.mac-batteries.com/ Also, here's a couple pictures of an open C500 that might help you figure out how to get to the original battery. (I have a C600, thank goodness -- it's a bit easier.) http://www.academ.com/info/macintosh/umax.shtml (As it happens, this page also has info about S900 batteries... which are different.) A final site that might help, trusty Low End Mac has a guide for installing a CacheDoubler card.
