In the sense that 2K works in C series machines, it is better. 
Other than that, 2K and 4K designations have to do with esoteric 
addressing characteristics of the chips used to make the DIMMs and 
should not affect performance.   I wrote quite a tome on the topic to 
the list a couple of months ago.

In fact, technically, some 4K DIMMs should work in the C series, but 
the trick would be to tell the difference between usable 4K and 
unusable 4K.  There are variations within the designations 2K and 4K.
