Dear listers -

This has very limited Supermac specific content except that it involves
my S900,
so my profuse apologes in advance....

Anxious to punt Earthlink dial-up account in favor of DSL through
nTelos, I am gathering the pieces
necessary to make the switch.
(Funny how there is a 15-20 minute wait announcement when you try to
notify them
of the cancellation....)
I have punch block and tools, outlets, cable, router, etc.
No need for a ethernet card....finally will have a use for the 10-baseT
jack that was never used
in the S900.

One question has come up, however.

When downloading mail, typically the messages ends up the computer the
mail is read on.
With DSL, I am hoping to have multiple computers with at least two
e-mail accounts.
I envision some sort of server, perhaps the S900, that is used for all
incoming mail.
However, the mail would be checked/retrieved at other computers on the
network.

I guess what I'm working toward is accessing the internet and mail
"through" the S900 and somehow
store all the messages in it as well. All browser specific info would
reside there.
I am sure some of you have run into this situation - "darn it, that
particular message is on another
computer."
Will the 10baseT speed be a problem if the S900 is used as a server only
for DSL purposes ?

If you know of a useful web site addressing some of these issue, I would
appreciate it.

Alan
S900, new since late 1998.
