David I took note of your suggestion that tall ram might be my problem too I did have some tall ram but these were removed some time ago because they were preventing the Sonnett Tempo card from working this left me with small and medium height sticks (32 Mb) which I purchased at the same time as the S900 in 1998. More recently I have acquired Velocity Upgrades 128 sticks so on your advice I removed the 2 32Mb and voila I now have after a little switch juggling a 450 MHz machine Hoorah.
