Here is another use for an old SCSI Zip drive -

I tucked everything into a built-in wall shelving/alcove that offers air
circulation on the back side with pegboard backing.
Not wanting to keep pulling out the S900 every time I need to connect
something to the SCSI port, I connected the Zip drive and placed the
drive at a spot where I can easily connect a couple of peripherals I use
often - the burner and film scanner.
Without getting into why I am not keeping things connected daisychained,
the Zip drive came in handy after several years of sitting in a box with
several dozen discs.
(I also have a second drive that is handy during emergencies with other
older macs or when needing to quickly sneaker net a couple of apps or files.)

So....there it is, the Zip as a SCSI port extension....and is ready for
the rare occasion when I need to use it.
During the Iomega's 'click-of-death' fiasco, I ended up with the newer
vented power supplies and the second drive, so keeping it powered up all
the time is not a problem.

Zip on 5, anything that connects to it set to 6.
