Alan, No, I used to have an external burner back when, but it was unfortunately lost several years ago, while I was traveling overseas. I just recovered the J700 several months ago, and was planning on getting new storage for it, just to prevent this lack of backup, but it beat me to it.
As I mentioned, my plan will be to get a new HD, install the system from the CD, then try and bring up the bad drive. If it works, I'll buy an external burner, as before, and backup frequently, as I'd always done before. Just hoping that I can access the old HD - it'd be nice. Most of my vital stuff is backed up on my website anyways. I'm interested in some info regarding how the system interacts with the two SCSI buses, and how I can apparently just install a PCI controller card and run IDE drives, etc, but I'll ask specific questions later, when this machine is back up, and backed up! ;-) On to the HD ordering task! cal On Mon, 30 Jun 2003, Alan Kim wrote: > > Do you have access to an external SCSI drive as well as a copy of DiscWarrior > ? -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
