I HAD one back in the day, but as I mentioned, it was lost when I traveled extensively. I'll ask the list once I get running again - my main concern is recovering the stuff on the old HD - I've had several HD failures on this machine and I've always been able to recover all data from them, for some reason. They all failed to boot, but once I had a new system drive set up, they always have come up, and given me my data back. > Even if you are able to successfully boot from the internal CD drive using the old > Umax CD, an external drive offers you the opportunity to boot from a utilities CD > such as Disc Warrior, Norton Utilities or TechTool or any homemade bootable CD. Yes, I understand that. I"ll ask some relevant questions regarding hard drives and systems as necessary, once I see what's going on with the J700 repair. > Please tell us if you make any progress. I certainly will! And thanks again - I'll try the latest suggestion tonight and report tomorrow. cal -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
