Except I can't GET to my system folder if I can't boot from the CD. My CD-ROM is NOT an Apple CD ROM.
I've tried SODA. CUDA. Nothing works. I've even tried booting from my CD-R. My only other option is to track down someone with a hard drive with OS 8.6 already installed.
