Now, if you haven't told thw whole story- if you have both a non apple CD and a non-Apple hard drive, the the Apple software will not install without third party drivers, but this is another issue. Excellent addition that I hadn't remembered. If hard drives were formatted with a 3rd party driver, that driver would badly conflict with an Apple driver that would be automatically installed upon a system install. Is the HD formatted with a FWB driver? If so, we may be getting quite warm finding the gremlin.
