Now you have me confused. An OTC Apple OS Disk should work in any CD drive. The drive just won't have CD drivers once the Apple CD is removed. Put your Apple Install Disc in the CD and it should work, once you have installed a system on a hard drive use the CD driver Syble sent you to replace the one in the Apple installed System and you should be good to go. Now, if you haven't told thw whole story- if you have both a non apple CD and a non-Apple hard drive, the the Apple software will not install without third party drivers, but this is another issue.
