I agree, this is a valid and smart approach if you don't mind having two programs open instead of one, which makes actually little difference I guess on most machines. I go one step further: since I have an ingrained preference for SM which probably dates back to the Netscape years, I only run SM, but keep FF and TB available. And I try to minimize the number of mistakes I make :-) ... and keep available a backup on a separate machine in case I do make one (usually, installing an extension I should not have tried!).
